GA4 audit — the trailhead

Not sure your numbers are telling the truth?

A standalone GA4 audit from a Sydney agency that lives in the data. We trace every event, conversion and channel from click to report, flag what's double-counted, missing or misfiring, and hand you a plain-English fix list — whether or not you ever hire us for the rest.

Bad data is more expensive than no data.

Most GA4 properties we open are quietly wrong: conversions double-counted, key events never wired up, consent settings silently discarding half the traffic, and channels claiming credit they didn't earn. Budgets get moved on those numbers every month.

The audit exists to answer one question before anything else gets decided: can you trust what your analytics is telling you? If the answer is no, you leave with the exact list of what to fix.

What the audit covers
01

Event & conversion review

Every event and key conversion traced from trigger to report — what fires, what double-counts, what never fires at all.

02

GTM container health

Tags, triggers and variables audited for duplicates, dead weight and misconfigured consent — so the container stops working against you.

03

Attribution & channel check

Why GA4 and Google Ads disagree, where "direct" traffic is hiding, and whether your channels are credited the way decisions assume.

04

Plain-English fix list

A prioritised, jargon-free list of fixes your developer (or we) can action — with the "why" attached to every line.

How it runs
01 / ACCESS

Read-only access, nothing touched

You grant viewer access to GA4 and Google Tag Manager. We change nothing — the audit is entirely observational.

02 / TRACE

We follow every trail

Over 3–5 business days we trace events, conversions, consent behaviour and channel attribution from click to report.

03 / REPORT

Findings, in plain English

You get a written report and a walkthrough call: what is broken, what it is costing you, and exactly how to fix it.

04 / FIX

Fix it yourself — or with us

The fix list stands on its own. Hand it to your developer, or have us implement it. No lock-in either way.

Common questions

How long does a GA4 audit take?

Typically 3–5 business days from access to report, depending on the size of your GA4 property and GTM container.

Do you need to change anything in my account?

No. The audit runs on read-only viewer access. Nothing in GA4, GTM or your ads accounts is modified.

Is this only for Sydney businesses?

We are a Sydney agency and most clients are local, but a GA4 audit is delivered remotely — we work with businesses across Australia.

What if my tracking turns out to be fine?

Then you get something rare: written confidence that your numbers are trustworthy, and a shortlist of small improvements worth making anyway.
